Hooper 2K fittings use a two-constant (K1 and K∞) loss model that describes how the head-loss coefficient changes with variations in flow conditions. Rather than assigning a single fixed K value to a fitting, the Hooper method defines two empirical constants that together capture the fitting’s behaviour from low Reynolds numbers through to fully turbulent flow. This provides a more accurate representation of real-world performance, particularly for fittings whose losses vary noticeably with changes in velocity or fluid viscosity.

The Hooper 2K library includes a broad range of fittings catering for flow geometries commonly used in engineering applications. For each fitting, the Pipe Flow Expert database defines the appropriate Hooper constants

When a Hooper 2K Fitting is added to a pipe, the software automatically calculates and applies the loss coefficient.
