Isometric Gas 01 – Compressed Air Zone
This example uses different fluid zones to model a compressed air system which includes two lower pressure sub-systems where the drop in pressure reduces the temperature of the fluid. The lower pressure sections are supplied from the 'ring main' distribution system and are controlled by PRVs (Pressure Reducing Valves).
All flow rates are specified in gas flow units (SCFM). Mass flow rates are also shown and mass flow entering and exiting a node will be the same. Actual volumetric flow rates will increase throughout the model, since as the pressure in the pipe reduces, the gas density decreases and the gas volume increases.
