Calculate Pump Head Video Demonstration
This video demonstrates Pipe Flow Expert software solving a piping design to find the pump head required to move water at 200 US gpm between two tanks at different elevations.
The tanks are connected via a series of pipes that contain a number of fittings and bends. The pump has to provide enough additional pressure to overcome the pressure drops in the system due to pipe friction losses and lift the fluid through the difference in elevation between the tanks.
